SIX METERS AND THEIR CORRESPONDENCES: OVERVIEW

Over the last few decades, I have been developing a system of associations between meters and other aspects of life, based on my lifetime of writing in meter and doing ritual and on teaching meter to thousands of students. I now use these correspondences throughout much of my writing, ritual work, and online and in-person teaching, and I find them an endlessly useful source of delight and insight, (Interestingly, while I wove this system entirely out of my own experience, I have recently become aware of similar kinds of correspondences in ancient systems of thought in oral-based cultures around the world).

I aim to share my complete understanding of the Five Directions in a book in more detail soon. Meanwhile, at the request of several people, I am posting below an overview that I hope will be useful.
